Georgia Southern Faces USC Upstate In Road Match Saturday

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern Women's Soccer Team travels to Spartanburg, S.C., to take on USC Upstate Saturday (August 28) at 3 p.m.

The Eagles enter the contest 0-1-0 after dropping their first official match at Mercer, 4-0, but were leading Winthrop 1-0 late in the first half before the season opener was cancelled due to lightning.

USC Upstate is 0-2-0, falling 3-0 at home to Charleston Southern to open the season and losing 5-0 at Furman. In two games, the Spartans have been out-shot 67-8, forcing opposing goalkeepers to make just three saves.

Georgia Southern didn't have a shot on frame against Mercer, but the Eagle goalkeepers combined to make three saves.
