STATESBORO, Ga. - Junior swimmer Caroline Bevillard (Bishop, Ga.) has been selected to participate in the 2010 Career in Sports Forum sponsored by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) from May 11-14 in Indianapolis, Ind. The four-day program will help participants examine the key functions of a coach or administrator and present different careers within sports, specifically collegiate athletics, to student-athletes.
Student-athletes were nominated by their individual institutions and, to be eligible, must complete their third year of collegiate enrollment by the start of the forum. Conducted in a two-year rotation for NCAA sponsored sports, the forum was open to student-athletes who have an interest in coaching the sports of baseball, basketball, bowling, football, gymnastics, lacrosse, soccer, swimming and diving and wrestling. An administrator track covers the areas of compliance, facilities, life skills, marketing and promotions and sports information.
"I am very honored to have the opportunity to represent Georgia Southern in Indianapolis," Bevillard said. "I look forward to the forum and all the networking and educational experiences it will offer."
The NCAA covers Bevillard's travel, airfare and meal expenses during the Forum. During her trip to Indianapolis, Bevillard will write a blog about her experiences which will be available on www.GeorgiaSouthernEagles.com.
