STATESBORO, GA ? Over 100 supporters and former alum came out to take part in the annual Eagle Golf Pro-Am at the Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga.
Despite a rain out in the first attempt to host the event earlier in the year, Forest Heights welcomed 25 groups and over 100 participants, including 25 professionals, to the event.
“We had a good turnout for the Pro-Am after our first scheduled date got rained out,” said head coach Larry Mays. “We had a good crowd come out and everyone had a good time.”
The team of Badcock & More won the event, while Paul Claxton shot a 66 to win as a professional. Claxton then donated his winnings back to the program.
In addition to a core Booster group that came out in support, former Georgia Southern players took time to join the tournament. A group of former Eagle standouts showed familiar faces around the course.
The annual event provides support to the Eagle golf program, its players and facilities. The support received during the one fundraiser event of the year for the golf program allows the team to continually compete among the nation's best each year.
