Men's Soccer Wraps Up Two-Game Homestand Against Wofford

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern men's soccer team wraps up its two-game conference homestand with a Wednesday match against Wofford.
The College of Charleston pulled away from the Georgia Southern men's soccer team 2-0 after two second-half goals. An own goal by the Eagles' defense during a corner kick led to the first goal. The second came after the Cougars were awarded a penalty kick in the 80th minute, and Zach Prince launched the kick into the top of the net. Witt Carlisle (Alpharetta, Ga.) led the Georgia Southern offense in the match with two shots on goal.
Jon Cox (Alpharetta, Ga.) and Carlisle lead the Eagles' attack this season with more 20 or more shots each. Cox has recorded a team leading 22 shots with nine coming on goal. Carlisle has tallied 20 shots, putting 12 on target this season.
The Terriers remain undefeated in conference play after a 2-0 win over Elon Sunday. Wofford sports a 6-1-3 overall record, with its only loss coming against #18 N.C. State 2-0.
The Terriers' defense leads the conference in goals against average (0.73) and fewest goals allowed (8). Thomas Hunter has been stellar in the cage. He sports a 0.65 GAA with 40 saves and 5 shutouts.
Kentrel Hunter leads the offense with four goals and 22 shots. Hunter also paces the team in points and game-winning goals.
The match is set for Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Eagle Field inside of the Erk Russell Athletic Park.
