JACKSONVILLE, Fla. ? The Georgia Southern swimming & diving team lost to North Florida 177-119 in Jacksonville, Fla. Saturday.
Georgia Southern had five first place finishes on the day.
Caroline Bevillard (Bishop, Ga.) helped the Lady Eagles get off to a good start with a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle. She also swam the lead off leg of the third place 200 yard medley relay team.
Lauren Parr (Canton, Ohio) picked up Georgia Southern's second first place finish. Parr won the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:08.59.
Reigning CCSA swimmer of the week, Courtney Martz (Woodbine, Ga.) won the 50 yard free with a time of 25.00.
Katie Creighton (Snellville, Ga.) continued her fine diving with a first place finish in the 1-meter dive with a mark of 230.47.
Courtney McCarthy (Savannah, Ga.) won the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.45. Meredith Fehr (Matthews, N.C.) finished right behind McCarthy in second place with a time of 1:01.67.
Lindsay Goodman (Knoxville, Tenn.) finished second in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.09 and swam the lead leg of Georgia Southern's second place 200 yard medley relay team.
Ali Campbell (Ft. McMurray, Alberta) brought home three second place finishes on the day. Campbell swam the 1000 yard freestyle in a time of 10:30.12. She also finished second in the 50 yard free and 500 yard free.
The Lady Eagles return to action against Campbell in the RAC. The meet is set for noon.
