Martz and Creighton Named Swimmer and Diver of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association tabbed Courtney Martz (Woodbine, Ga.) and Katie Creighton (Snellville, Ga.) as swimmer and diver of the week respectively.
Both Martz and Creighton were essential to Georgia Southern's performance against Davidson Saturday.
Martz had an outstanding day of competition setting pool records in two events. She won the 50 freestyle and set a new pool record with a time of 24.10. Martz also finished third in the 100 yard free.
She was also a member of the 400 freestyle relay team that placed first with a time of 3:34.60 and set a new pool record in the event. Other relay members include Caroline Bevillard (Bishop, Ga.), Ali Campbell (Ft. McMurray, Alberta) and Katelyn Woolfolk (Satellite Beach, Fla.).
The day was also a good one on the boards as Creighton finished first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 227.02 and second in the 1-meter dive with a mark of 199.50.
Other nominees for women's Swimmer of the Week include: Sarah Gardocki (College of Charleston), Jessica Delgehausen (Davidson), Rachael Rein (FGCU), Rachel Warkentin (Gardner-Webb) and LynAnn Nelson (North Florida).
Also nominated for women's Diver of the Week: Linnea Buttermore (Davidson) and Alyssa Maschi (College of Charleston).
The Lady Eagles return to action this Saturday at Jacksonville, Fla. against North Florida at 2:00 p.m.
