Lady Eagles Welcome Wofford Terriers Monday Night

STATESBORO, GA ? The Georgia Southern women's basketball team welcomes the Wofford Terriers to Hanner Fieldhouse for a Southern Conference match-up Monday, January 12. Tip-off is set for a 7 pm start.
The Lady Eagles enter the contest standing at 4-3 in conference play and 9-7 overall after coming off a road defeat at Davidson Saturday afternoon (Jan. 10). Georgia Southern fell in a 65-54 decision to the Southern Conference leaders in Belk Arena. Wofford comes into the contest after winning its first conference victory Saturday afternoon over Elon, 63-61. The Terriers are 3-11, 1-5.
Georgia Southern is led by senior Ashley Melson (Newnan, Ga.), who averages 13.3 points per game. J'Lisia Ogburn, who captured her second double-double of the season and third in her career at Davidson, follows Melson with 9.9 points per contest. Ogburn led the Eagles with a team-high 16 points and 10 rebounds against the Wildcats. Ogburn also leads the Lady Eagles in rebounding, averaging 6.0 per contest.
Wofford is led by Mahagony Williams, who averages 9.9 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per contest. In their first conference win over Elon, the Terriers were led by April Moorhouse, who poured in a team-high 14 points and Williams, who pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
Georgia Southern leads the series against Wofford with a stellar 22-3 margin and are 9-2 in Statesboro contests. The Lady Eagles took both regular season match-ups against the Terriers last season. Georgia Southern recorded a 62-56 win on February 9 in Spartanburg and a 60-54 win on January 12 in Statesboro.
