TAMPA, Fla. --- The Harvard volleyball team hit .352 overall, including .550 in the second set alone to sweep Georgia Southern 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-16) Saturday at the USF Tournament.
The Eagles' record drops to 6-8 overall while the Crimson improve to 2-7.
“It was our worst performance of the year,” said GSU head coach Chad Callihan. “It was a poor effort mentally and physically on our part. Give credit to Harvard for playing with a lot of energy and setting the tone early and it carried over the rest of the match.”
Harvard's Anne Ingersoll recorded 12 kills and just one error on 14 attempts for a .786 attack percentage. Chelsea Ono Horn added seven kills on a .467 percentage and Lily Durwood dished out 34 assists.
For Georgia Southern, freshman Bethany Sanford (Avondale, Ariz.) recorded a match-high 15 kills.
GSU returns to action Wednesday when they open Southern Conference play at Davidson.
