Statesboro, Ga. - The Georgia Southern Women’s Soccer team travels to Macon, Ga. Friday to face the Mercer Bears (1-3-1).
Georgia Southern (2-2-0) is seeking its third win of the season.
The Eagles are coming off a 2-1 loss in their home opener against Charleston Southern on Sunday (9/7).
Ashley Toussaint (Warner Robbins, Ga.) scored the Eagles’ only goal off a pass from Danae Kaimuloa (Escondido, Calif.).
Toussaint has six points on the season. She has scored two goals and picked up a pair of assists.
Toussaint ranks seventh in shots, third in points and fourth in goals per game in the conference.
The Eagles’ defense, combined with Lauren Santos’ (Berwyn, Ill.) play in the net, has allowed the fourth fewest number of goals in the conference.
The Mercer Bears left the Jacksonville State University Gamecock Invitational with a 0-1-1 record. The Bears lost to Samford 1-0 in the first game (9/5) and tied with Jacksonville State 1-1 in the second game (9/7).
Mercer returns eight starters off a team that finished second in the Atlantic Sun last year.
Katheryn Hurst leads the Bears in goals scored, with two.
