STATESBORO, Ga. - The swimming and diving team released its 2008-09 schedule today.
The Eagles enter their second season of CCSA competition and will face off against conference opponents: Campbell, Radford, College of Charleston, Gardner-Webb, Florida Gulf Coast, Davidson and North Florida.
The first meet of the season is scheduled for October 11th against Campbell and Radford in Buies Creek, N.C.
The Eagles return to Georgia for the second meet of the season. On October 18th, they will take on Savannah College of Art & Design and the College of Charleston in Savannah, Ga.
After taking on Gardner-Webb in Boiling Springs, N.C. on November 14th, the next day the swimming and diving team will travel to Atlanta, Ga. to take on four teams: Georgia Tech, New Orleans, Miami (FL) and Western Kentucky.
The Eagles return to North Carolina to participate in the three day Davidson Invitational on November 21st.
The swimming and diving team will have a rematch with Radford when the Eagles travel to Fort Myers, Fla. on January the 10th.
The first home meet of the season is against Davidson on January the 17th.
"We have a pretty solid dual meet schedule, competing against the top schools in the conference. Most of our meets are away and that's okay. It will allow us to see how we respond to traveling and then having to get up and race. I think the travel meets will help us once we get to the CCSA Conference Championships, which is the sole focus of our season," said Coach Kellogg.
The second and final home meet comes on the 31st of January in the rematch with Campbell.
The Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Championships will be held February 19th-21st in Athens, Ga.
