STATESBORO, Ga. --- The Eagles venture outside Southern Conference play Wednesday with a doubleheader at perennial NCAA Tournament participant Florida State.
First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. An audio broadcast will be available here.
FSU has reached postseason play in each of the past eight seasons and 20 times under head coach JoAnne Graf.
The two teams were in the same NCAA Regional in 2006 but did not meet. The Seminoles lead the series 31-3 but two of the Eagles' wins have come under head coach Natalie Poole.
Georgia Southern (20-17) is coming off a 2-1 series win at Furman last weekend, capping it off in convincing fashion Saturday with an 11-2 victory. The win in game two on Friday snapped a four-game losing streak.
The Eagles rode the bat of Robyne Siliga who hit .571 with a 1.143 slugging percentage against Furman. She reached base at a .700 clip and hit a home run and drove in five runs. She hit a three-run bomb on Saturday, part of a 2-for-2, three-run, four-RBI performance. Siliga leads the league in hits (42), RBI (37), walks (22) and total bases (70). She paces the team in average (.389), home runs (8), on base percentage (.496) and slugging percentage (.648).
Sophomore Nina Iduate collected a hit in each game, including her first three-hit game since the season-opening series at Savannah State. She hit .625 (5-for-8) and stole two bases. She ranks second on the team in average (.333) and stolen bases (11).
