Swimming & Diving in Fourth at CCSA Championships

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. ? Day one of the first-ever Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Championships (CCSA) is complete with the Georgia Southern swimming & diving team currently in fourth place.
The Eagles have amassed 144 total overall points, while Davidson College sits in first place with a point total of 221.
GSU's 200-yard freestyle relay team comprised of Courtney Martz (Woodbine, Ga.), Jennifer Clayton (Marietta, Ga.), Amanda Gerdeman (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Katelyn Woolfolk (Satellite Beach, Fla.) placed first. The Eagles earned a time of 1:35.65, which gives them the top time in the conference this season.
Martz continued her impressive sophomore campaign with a fourth place finish in the 50 freestyle clocking in at 24.26. Sophomore Ashley White (Charlotte, N.C.) finished seventh in the 200-yard IM racing to a time of 2:10.48.
Georgia Southern's 400 medley relay team comprised of Lindsay Goodman (Knoxville, Tenn.), White, Kristen Haudenschild (Woodbridge, Va.) and Ali Campbell (Alberta, Canada) picked up a third place finish with a time of 3:54.87.
Freshman Cassie Smith (Cartersville, Ga.) paced the Eagles' divers with a score of 190.80 in the 1-meter dive.
The CCSA Championships will resume tomorrow morning at 10:00am.
