Lady Eagles Hit the Road for Kennesaw State, Monday

STATESBORO, Ga. -- After coming off a comforting 67-58 win over Southern Conference foe Elon (Dec.5), the Georgia Southern women's basketball team is hitting the road again to face Kennesaw State University Monday (Dec. 15). Tip-off at KSU Convocation Center is slated for 7pm.
The Lady Eagles (6-2, 2-0) are 3-1 on the road this season. The Georgia Southern offense is averaging 65.6 points per game and shooting 35% from behind the 3-point line this season. Ashley Melson (Newnan, Ga.) leads the Lady Eagles with 15.8 points per game, making 52% of her shots from behind the arc.
Melson scored a team high 15 points over Elon, while Jamie Navarro (Naples, Fl.) broke her career high 10 points against Elon, scoring 11. The Eagles went to the charity strip 20 times over the course of the game before closing out the victory.
KSU (1-4, 0-0) is coming off their lone win of the season, a 64-58 victory over Troy (Dec. 3). The KSU Owls are led by Jennifer Baker with 13.6 points per game, who is just shy of leading the team in rebounds with 6.6 per game; Brittany Henderson averages 6.8 rebounds per game. Angie Smith tossed in a team high 15 points against Troy and Montinique Nixon pulled down a team high 7 boards.
This is the first meeting between the Lady Eagles and the Owls.
