Swimming and Diving Breaks Two School Records at the Davidson Invitational

DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Georgia Southern swimming and diving team broke two school records Friday at the Davidson Invitational in Davidson, N.C.

"We had an outstanding first day, breaking two school records in the first two swimming events. To break records at this point in the season is an unexpected surprise, as we are not yet hitting on all cylinders,” said head coach Nathan Kellogg.

The 200 yard Freestyle Relay team of Caroline Bevillard (Bishop, Ga.), Lauren Parr (Canton, Ohio), Jordyn Pasley (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Ali Campbell (Alberta, Canada) placed fourth with a time of 7:46.51.

In the next event, Campbell set another school record in the 1650 yard Freestyle with a time of 17:34.97.

Nikki Hutchison (Kennesaw, Ga.) placed seventh in the 1-Meter dive with a score of 184.00 and Katie Creighton (Snellville, Ga.) placed 9th with a score of 171.50.

“Our divers bounced back and competed well, putting up some solid performances tonight after competiting against some of the top divers in the country last week at Georgia Tech," said Kellogg.

The Lady Eagles will continue competition in the Davidson Invitational tomorrow morning in Davidson, N.C.

“I believe we have a lot of room for improvement, but this weekend is about seeing where we are in the middle of the season,” stated Kellogg.
