Savannah, Ga. ? The Georgia Southern Swimming and Diving team (3-1) defeated the College of Charleston 203-58 and Savannah College of Art and Design 161-100 Saturday afternoon in Savannah.
The Lady Eagles won four events in the match.
Georgia Southern placed first and second in the 200 yard medley relay event.
The Lady Eagles A team won the event with a time of 1:49.93. The team consisted of Lindsay Goodman (Knoxville, Tenn.), Ashley White (Charlotte, N.C.), Kristen Haudenschild (Woodbridge, Va.) and Katelyn Woolfolk (Satellite Beach, Fla.).
The Georgia Southern B team finished second with a time of 1:52.72. The B team consisted of Caroline Bevillard (Bishop, Ga.), Kristin Butts (Woodstock, Ga.), Lauren Parr (Canton, Ohio) and Jordyn Pasley (Knoxville, Tenn.).
Ali Campbell (Ft. McMurray, Alberta) won the 1000 yard freestyle event with a time of 10:26.05. She set a new school record in the event. The previous best time was 10:34.35.
Meredith Fehr (Matthews, Tenn.) also competed in the 1000 yard freestyle and finished sixth with a time of 11:02.04.
The Lady Eagles finished one, two, and three in the 200 yard freestyle. Campbell finished first with a time of 1:56.04. Bevillard finished right behind her with a time of 1:56.30. Pasley finished third with a time of 1:58.37.
Courtney McCarthy (Savannah, Ga.) came in fifth place in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.55.
Courtney Martz (Woodbine, Ga.) had the Lady Eagles' best finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.21. Goodman finished fourth with a time of 1:01.54. Alex Mitchell (Maitland, Fla.) came in sixth place with a mark 1:04.17. Fehr came in eighth place with a time 1:06.50.
White won the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.30. Butts placed fifth in the event with a mark of 1:10.24. Kristin Celii (Cary, N.C.) finished with a time of 1:11.52. Haudenschild came in right behind her with a mark of 1:12.52.
Parr finished first in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:09.39. Rachael Stockwell (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Rachel Sale (Atlantic Beach, Fla.) finished in fifth and sixth place respectively.
Martz finished second in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.59.
Bevillard finished in second place in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 54.34.
Goodman won the 200 yard backstroke with a mark of 2:09.97.
White won her third event in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:28.07.
Haudenschild and Celii finished one, two in the 200 yard breaststroke. They finished within two seconds of each other.
Campbell had Georgia Southern's best finish in the 500 yard freestyle with a mark of 5:10.60.
Parr came in second place in the 100 yard butterfly. She finished with a time of 59.60 and was a tenth of a second behind the winner Morgan Hall from College of Charleston. Parr also won the 200 yard IM with a time 2:12.32.
The Lady Eagles also finished in third, fourth and fifth place in the 200 yard IM.
The Georgia Southern A relay team won the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.36.
Nikki Hutchison (Kennesaw, Ga.) won the 1-meter diving event held at the RAC in Statesboro, Ga. and Katie Creighton (Snellville, Ga.) won the 3-meter diving event.
The Lady Eagles return to action November the 14th against Gardner-Webb at 6 p.m.
