CHARLOTTE, N.C. ? Georgia Southern junior diver Katie Creighton (Snellville, Ga.) was named Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Diver of the Week for her performance on the board this past weekend against SCAD and New Orleans.
Creighton has been instrumental in Georgia Southern's seven consecutive dual meet victories. GSU defeated SCAD 83-57 and New Orleans 116-24 last Saturday.
Creighton received her first Diver of the Week award this season as she posted a first and second place finish last Saturday. She becomes the fourth Georgia Southern diver to be recognized as the CCSA Women's Diver of the Week. Last week, junior diver Nikki Hutchison (Kennesaw, Ga.) was tabbed with the CCSA's weekly honor.
Creighton recorded a first-place finish in the 1-meter dive with a score of 190.95 and a mark of 179.78 in the 3-meter event for a second-place finish.
The Eagles (9-1, 6-1) are back in the pool Saturday (Jan. 19) as they host Campbell and Florida Gulf Coast. The meet is scheduled to begin at noon.
