Paetz Falls in Crimson Tide Fall Invitational Finals

Tuscaloosa, Al. ? Mark Paetz finished off competition in the Crimson Tide Fall Invitational Sunday morning in Tuscaloosa, Al. With the conclusion of the tournament, Georgia Southern men's tennis completed fall tournament action.
The Munich, Germany native had a stellar weekend of competition in Tuscaloosa. After knocking off Miguel Artero on Friday, freshman Paetz defeated two opponents Saturday in the quarterfinals and semifinals, Wade Covington and Diego Martinez, to advance to the final round, respectively. Sunday morning witnessed a hard fought match between the Georgia Southern and UT Martin opponents. The first set went to the last serve with Chris Slabbert being victorious, 7-5. Slabbert then took the second set, 6-4, to claim the Starr singles title.
The Crimson Tide Fall Invitational concluded fall action for Georgia Southern. The Eagles open up dual play on January 20 at Florida A&M.
