Skylar Neuwirth was hired in March of 2026 at Georgia Southern as an Assistant Equipment Manager for Olympic Sports. She comes to Statesboro after working at VMI for three years.
Neuwirth started at VMI in June of 2023 as the Assistant Director of Athletics Equipment and Services and was promoted to the position of Director of Athletics Equipment and Services in 2024.
Neuwirth oversaw football, basketball and baseball, while assisting in all aspects of the equipment room including ordering and maintaining team gear, performing equipment inventories, helping prep practice facilities while directly aiding all of VMI's 18 teams.
A graduate of Northern Colorado (biological sciences, May 2023), Neuwirth had prior experience working with football, baseball and hockey. At the University of Northern Colorado, Neuwirth performed equipment inventories, assigned equipment, instructed equipment usage, delegated to work staff and helped train workers.
A Certified Athletic Equipment Manager (2022), Neuwirth works through the Athletic Equipment Managers Association.
