Peaches Nesmith Brown

Peaches Nesmith Brown serves as the Assistant Director of Studen- Athlete Services at Georgia Southern University. Brown oversees all academic related matters for Women's Basketball and Football.

Brown joined the Student-Athlete Services staff as an academic coordinator in March of 2015 working with men’s basketball, women’s basketball and volleyball before being promoted to assistant director in 2016. During her time as an academic coordinator, all three of her teams produced their highest fall (2015) GPA at the time with men’s basketball producing their highest fall/spring GPA and the women’s basketball program receiving a Sun Belt Conference award for highest women’s basketball GPA.

Prior to joining Georgia Southern, Brown served as an intern in Academic Support for Athletics at Villanova University. Her primary duties included working with 30+ student-athletes, overseeing varsity excuse forms, creating monthly newsletters and coordinating study hall.

Brown also worked at Lock Haven University in the athletic department as a graduate assistant where she gained experience in academics, event management, and assisted the Women’s Basketball coaching staff. She help to establish and monitor a department wide study hall program while also creating manuals and serving as the point of contact for all home athletic contest for volleyball, football, women’s basketball and baseball. Before returning to Lock Haven as a graduate assistant, Brown served as an intern at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in the media relations department.

A native of Philadelphia, Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in sport administration from Lock Haven University where she was a four-year varsity basketball member. She also received her Master’s in sport science from Lock Haven in 2014.

Brown resides in Statesboro with her husband, Nate.
