Dr. Jason Karp is in his first season on the Georgia Southern Track and Field and Cross Country coaching staff and coaches the distance runners. 

Karp became one of the youngest college head coaches in the country, leading the Georgian Court University women’s cross country team to the regional championship and was named NAIA Northeast Region Coach of the Year. He is a USA Track & Field certified coach and was a member of the silver-medal winning United States Masters Team at the 2013 World Maccabiah Games in Israel.

Karp is currently a visiting professor of exercise science at Georgia Southern University. He brings experience both on and off the track producing high school All-Americans while speaking at conferences and coaching clinics around the world. 

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Karp graduated from Penn State with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science and a minor in English. He graduated from the University of Calgary with a master’s degree in kinesiology.  He earned his PhD in exercise physiology with a minor in physiology from Indiana University before he received his MBA in entrepreneurship from San Diego State University.
