2018-19: Played in and started 12 games … Was on the field for 748 total plays (730 defensive, 18 special teams) … Led the team with 71 tackles … Had 2.0 tackles for loss and half a sack … Also had an interception that he returned 34 yards … Had three pass breakups and two forced fumbles … Opened the season with six tackles against South Carolina State and UMass … Missed the Clemson game … Had a season-high 13 tackles, including one for loss and half a sack, to go along with two forced fumbles against Arkansas State … Had five stops against South Alabama … Had an interception that he returned 34 yards at Texas State … Posted 10 tackles at New Mexico State and eight at ULM … Recorded six tackles at Georgia State.


2017-18: Played in 10 games, starting seven … Was on the field for 438 snaps (431 defensive, 7 special teams) … Was third on the team in tackles with 47 … Included in that total were 3.5 tackles and a sack … Had two interceptions and two pass break ups … Had a big game against UMass with 14 tackles (8u, 6a) … Had a sack for a loss of 9 yards against Georgia State … Recorded interceptions in back to back games against Louisiana and Coastal Carolina … Made the Honor Roll in the spring.


2016-17: Played in 11 games, starting 11 … Started the final six games of the season … Was on the field for 807 snaps (720 defensive, 87 special teams) … Was third on the team in tackles with 72 (45u, 27a) and had 2.5 for loss … Had a fumble recovery against Louisiana, as well as an interception against both Arkansas State and New Mexico State … Had 10+ tackles against Louisiana and Ole Miss … Had eight tackles against Arkansas State.


2015-16: Played in five games … Was on the field for one defensive snap and 79 special teams plays … Had one tackle for loss in the game against The Citadel … Had one solo tackle against the University of Idaho … Made the school’s Honor Roll for his academic work in the fall.


HIGH SCHOOL: An all-state honoree as a senior at Creekside High School … Named Defensive Player of the Year as a senior, and was a part of the Seminoles’ 2013 5A GHSAA State Championship … Also lettered in track, winning a state championship in 4x100m relay … Member of the Honor Roll … Won the Coca-Cola Golden Helmet Award in 2015 for Academic Excellence.


PERSONAL: Born Joshua Gerrod Moon on May 18 in Atlanta … Son of Erick Gerrod and Janice Moon … Has five siblings … Father played football at Alcorn State, and was named to the program’s Top-50 all-time players in 2014.
