STATESBORO – Georgia Southern volleyball begins the 2026 Sun Belt Conference slate on Friday evening, traveling to Conway, South Carolina, to face off against the Chanticleers. First serve on Friday evening is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

- Sunday afternoon in Hanner Fieldhouse was one for the record books, as head coach Chad Willis became the winningest coach in program history, surpassing Kerry Messersmith who tallied 116 career wins. In his eighth year leading the program, the accomplishment is just another stepping stone in the ultimate goal for Willis. The next on the docket is hanging a banner for a Sun Belt Championship inside Hanner Fieldhouse.
- Phase three for the Eagles this season begins on Friday night in Conway, South Carolina, as Georgia Southern opens Sun Belt play on the road. The Chanticleers hold the all-time lead over the Eagles, 37-5, but Georgia Southern swept the Chanticleers in Hanner Fieldhouse, winning 3-1 and 3-0. In Conway, the Eagles are 2-13 against the Chants with their last victory coming in 2021 at the HTC Center.
- Four Eagles were named to the Eagle Invitational All-Tournament Team, following Georgia Southern's third consecutive non-conference tournament title. Lexi Duffy, Beka Pfefferkorn, and Reagan Barth, all earned All-Tournament honors, while second year, Alex Myers, earned a nod on the All-Tournament team and was named MVP. Myers finished the weekend with 29 kills, hitting .519 for the three matches. She added eight digs, two solo blocks, and six block assists, scoring 34.0 total points.
- After dropping the first three matches of the season in Hawaii, Georgia Southern has been nearly untouchable on the court, posting an 8-1 record with three tournament championships. During that stretch, the Eagles have dropped six total sets in nine matches, falling only on the road at Wake Forest in five sets. With two more matches on deck in September, the Eagles have a chance to have one of the best statistical months in program history under Chad Willis. A sweep of the Chanticleers in Conway would push the Eagles to 10-1 on the month, registering a 90.9 winning percentage, the highest during the Willis era.
- Georgia Southern has been a force inside Hanner Fieldhouse, posting a 6-0 record and dropping just three total sets in those matches. The Eagles have swept both home non-conference tournaments and have turned Hanner Fieldhouse into one of the hardest venues in the league to play in. In the program's history, the Eagles have posted a 309-204 record at home and a record of 69-29 under head coach Chad Willis.
