Auditions For Public Address Announcers for Women's Basketball, Baseball and Softball

STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern Athletics Department is seeking highly talented individuals to serve as the public address announcers for the upcoming Women's Basketball, Baseball and Softball seasons. The primary responsibility of the position is to contribute to providing an excellent game day and memorable experience for student-athletes, coaches and Eagles fans at their respective sports.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strong vocal talent, excellent enunciation skills and comfortable announcing to crowds
- Experience working as a PA announcer in high school, collegiate or professional sports is preferred
- Ability to understand and follow the game, and make announcements about the in-game action
- Responsible for procuring visiting team pronunciations for each home game
- Strong knowledge of NCAA WBB/BSB/SB and their rules
- Ability to follow a script for sponsorship announcements, presentations, important information, etc.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to be spontaneous and quickly react and adapt when appropriate
- A unique and definitive personality, while retaining the current Georgia Southern traditions
- Receptive to both positive and constructive feedback
AVAILABILITY
The PA announcers will be required to work the large majority of games for their respective sports, including nights and weekends. The position is part-time.
OTHER DETAILS
Public address announcers report to the Athletic Marketing Department, and the position will be renewed on an annual basis by Georgia Southern Athletics.
