Athletics Unveils New True BluePrint Plan

Strategic plan designed to guide the department through 2031
STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Athletics today introduced the TRUE BLUEprint, the department's operating framework from September 2026 through Spring 2031.
It is not a wish list. It is a commitment with goals attached: 10 or more team or individual conference championships a year, every program finishing in the top five of its league, a five-year departmental APR average of 990+, and 80 percent of Eagles placed in a career or graduate school within a year of finishing their eligibility.
The plan is built on a simple conviction — that championships and character are grown from the same soil. Georgia Southern University is guided by People. Purpose. Action. and the belief that we grow ourselves to grow others. Athletics brings that vision to life through competition, student-athlete development, engagement, stewardship and service.
The TRUE BLUEprint organizes that work into FIVE PILLARS: Win With Purpose, Elevate the Student-Athlete Experience, Grow Eagle Nation, Fuel the Future — Secure Our Legacy, and Commit to Our People.
What separates this plan is accountability. Every primary indicator receives an annual status — green, yellow or red — and, where appropriate, is tracked from a 2026 baseline to a 2031 target. Progress is reported to Eagle Nation each year through the State of Eagle Nation.
The ambition reaches well beyond the scoreboard: more Eagles graduating on time and prepared for meaningful careers, more fans in the stands, more donors invested, and a Georgia Southern Athletics department positioned to thrive financially, physically and organizationally for generations to come.
