STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Athletics and Learfield, the leading media and technology company powering college athletics, announced today a 10-year extension to their longstanding relationship that dates back over a decade.
In addition to seeing Georgia Southern Sports Properties (GSSP) continue as the exclusive multimedia rights holder of the Eagles, Learfield will also continue to provide integrated revenue generation and fan engagement solutions through parallel extensions with licensed merchandise agency CLC, digital ticketing and marketing platform provider Paciolan, and digital solutions leader SIDEARM Sports.
"Extending our partnership with Learfield is an investment in the continued growth of Georgia Southern Athletics and the strength of the Eagle brand," said Director of Athletics Chris Davis. "Learfield has been an outstanding partner in helping us connect with our fans, create meaningful opportunities for our corporate partners and generate the resources that directly impact the experience of our student-athletes. As college athletics continues to evolve, it's important to align with an industry leader that shares our vision for innovation, storytelling and long-term success. We look forward to building on everything we've accomplished together and creating even greater value for Eagle Nation in the years ahead."
An innovative leader in revenue generation and brand integration in college athletics, Georgia Southern was among the first universities in the nation to sign an on-field logo partner, placing the Sack Company logo on Evans Family Field at Allen E. Paulson Stadium. Georgia Southern Sports Properties has driven substantial revenue growth in recent years, with overall sponsorship revenue increasing 62% and new business revenue up 91% since FY23.
Additionally, Georgia Southern's notable partnerships with Vallent Bank and Southern Crown demonstrate its progressive approach to delivering long-lasting success built upon strong relationships and high-impact branding.
After years of sustained growth, Georgia Southern Sports Properties is committed to providing additional resources to support business development and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) collaborations. The new on-campus NIL experts will increase student-athlete influencer opportunities such as the NIL activation with local convenience store Parker's Kitchen, which incorporated Eagle student-athletes into various brand promotions.
"Our long-time collaboration with Chris and his team is built on a shared commitment to the advancement of Georgia Southern Athletics," said Kim Damron, President of Sports Properties at Learfield. "Together, we have fostered a relationship and culture centered on leveraging centerpiece assets and new revenue generation strategies that will ensure sustained success in Statesboro."
"Working alongside Chris, Ryan and Terry, GSSP has built impactful partnerships that support student-athlete and departmental success," said Cam Brown, General Manager of Georgia Southern Sports Properties. "By collectively aligning our expertise and resources, we continue to drive forward-thinking strategies that enhance brand partnerships and create authentic connections with the Georgia Southern community."
As an enterprise-wide partner, Georgia Southern has leveraged its relationship with Paciolan, in collaboration with Live Event Consultants, to bring nationally recognized artists such as Riley Green, Ella Langley and Bailey Zimmerman to campus for GATA Jam in support of the Eagle Nation Fund. Paciolan further supports enhanced fundraising and development efforts through its digital marketing expertise and the integration of PAC Fund to drive donorship.
CLC has helped Georgia Southern grow its licensing program by expanding into emerging markets, driving a 184% increase in royalty revenue over the past five years, which culminated with record-setting royalties in 2025. The previous year, CLC also supported the launch of Georgia Southern's first NIL merchandise program, opening new revenue and engagement opportunities.
As one of SIDEARM's longest tenured school partners, Georgia Southern has been an early adopter and innovator in immersive fan engagement, leveraging a comprehensive suite of web, mobile and streaming applications to connect with Georgia Southern fans across multiple platforms year-round.
With the enterprise-wide renewal, Georgia Southern Athletics gains access to Fanbase, the largest proprietary fan data platform in college athletics. By connecting digital fan engagement, ticketing and fundraising operations, licensed merchandise and brand activations, Learfield's Fanbase platform provides greater accessibility to fan insights, powering data-driven decision making, stronger partnership alignment and meaningful fan connections.
