NCAA SCORECARD
STATESBORO - Big scores in smallbore and air rifle helped propel the Georgia Southern rifle team to the 2026 Southern Conference Rifle title at Shooting Sports Education Center. After winning the smallbore title with a conference-record 2,345 on Friday, the squad kept the pressure on with a record 2,327 in air rifle on Saturday and rolled past North Georgia by 69 points to claim their fifth-straight title. Additionally, Emme Walrath won the the air rifle finals to claim her second individual title of the weekend.
It marks the third time in program history, and the third year in a row, the team has swept all three titles.
In the air rifle preliminaries, Walrath dropped just two shots and posted a 598 to take first. She was followed closely by Bremean Butler and Emma Pohlmann, who both shot 597. Tori Watts posted a 590 and Hailey Singleton posted a 585 to round out the team effort.
With their scores, Walrath, Butler, Pohlmann and Watts all made the finals. Walrath pulled away late to take the title in air rifle, picking up her second individual title of the weekend. She won the smallbore crown on Friday. Watts took the bronze while Butler placed fourth and Pohlmann placed sixth.
Walrath was given the Pinnacle Award, given to the student-athlete on the championship shooting team with the highest cumulative GPA.
With the championship moved up a month this year and regular-season action still going for another week, the SoCon Shooters of the Year and all-conference awards will be awarded after the season is completed.
Words From Coach Soren Butler: "I'm pleased with our performance this weekend. This group has put a lot of intention in to late-season consistency and this weekend, we accomplished that. I'm happy for the girls and the individual success that was had as well. This match is a great representation of the format at NCAAs so getting this experience under our belt is good for us. Big thank to Bryan, LA, Dr. Brandonn, Marie, AJ, our creative services team, our administration, Matt Horst and the SSEC staff, Abby, Lea, and my wife Rach for their endless support and help this weekend. Big thanks for the family, friends and Eagle Nation who came out to support! Five in a row is special. Hail Southern!"
