Georgia Southern Athletics Unveils “GATATINE’S DAY” – A Full-Day Valentine’s Celebration on Feb. 14

STATESBORO - Georgia Southern Athletics is redefining Valentine's Day with GATATINE'S DAY, an all-day celebration packed with competition, giveaways, student experiences and Eagle pride. From afternoon tipoff to a national television spotlight at night, fans are invited to spend Feb. 14 on campus enjoying three home events across women's basketball, baseball and men's basketball.

The Road to GATATINE'S DAY

GATATINE'S DAY is part of a packed stretch of home events, giving Eagle fans multiple chances to celebrate on campus throughout the week leading into Valentine's Day and beyond.

The run-up begins with a basketball doubleheader on Wednesday, Feb. 11, as women's basketball tips off at 5 p.m., followed by men's basketball at 8 p.m. inside the Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center. Women's basketball (17-5, 10-2) will battle for first place in the Sun Belt against Arkansas State (20-4, 11-1). The Eagles will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day and offer 500 Georgia Southern-branded friendship bracelets at the game. Men's basketball hosts rival App State for Salute to Service and the annual Blue Out game. Active duty, retired and veteran military personnel may claim a complimentary ticket to the game.

Action continues on Thursday, Feb. 12, with men's tennis hosting a home match at 12 p.m. against South Carolina State, before the momentum builds even further on Friday, Feb. 13. Fans can catch women's tennis at 1 p.m., also against South Carolina State before heading to J.I. Clements Stadium for Baseball Opening Day under the lights at 6:30 p.m. against West Virginia.

The celebration doesn't stop after Feb. 14. The weekend slate features women's tennis on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. against Kennesaw State, followed by the baseball series finale against West Virginia at 1 p.m., rounding out a full week of Eagle athletics.

From the first serve to the final out, GATATINE'S DAY is part of a larger stretch of home events showcasing the energy, variety, and excitement of Georgia Southern Athletics.
