
Georgia Southern Falls to Appalachian State Saturday

BOONE, N.C. – Luke Wilson scored 19 points and the Appalachian State Mountaineers (19-11, 11-6 SBC) defeated Georgia Southern (15-14, 7-9 SBC), 89-74, on Saturday afternoon at the Holmes Convocation Center.
Alden Applewhite produced a career high 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds, as Spudd Webb collected his second double-double of the season, tallying 21 points and 10 rebounds. Tyren Moore added 21 points on Saturday, as the Eagles stayed within striking distance until the final few minutes.
Jalen Tot scored 17 points for the Mountaineers, while Kasen Jennings scored 16 and Eren Banks chipped in 13. Appalachian State used balanced scoring and timely shooting to build separation after the Eagles tied the ballgame with 11 minutes remaining in the second half.

- Georgia Southern held the Mountaineers scoreless for over two minutes in the second half, cutting the deficit to four points, as Tsvet Sotirov drained a three-pointer from the corner, 47-43.
- Spudd Webb tied the game with 11 minutes to play, knocking down his first three-pointer of the game, 55-55.
