Georgia Southern continues its four-game road swing on Thursday at Troy
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - James Madison women's basketball halted Georgia Southern's four-game win streak on Saturday with a 67-60 Sun Belt victory over the Eagles in Williamsburg, Va.
The Dukes (13-7, 5-3 SBC) earned a season split with the Eagles (13-5, 6-2 SBC) with the victory, as Georgia Southern won the matchup in Statesboro just 10 days ago, 78-70.
A three-pointer by Kyla Bryant put the Eagles up, 3-2, a minute into the contest, but JMU embarked on a 12-2 run to take a 14-5 lead midway through the first quarter. The Dukes led by eight, 19-11, at the end of the first period, then led by seven at the break, 28-21.
Midway through the third quarter, the score was still at the seven-point margin, 36-29, after a pair of Destiny Garrett free throws, but the Dukes went on an 8-0 run to build the lead to double digits. James Madison led by 18 points, 65-47, with 1:42 remaining in the contest but the Eagles ended the game on a 13-2 run for the final margin.
McKenna Eddings led the Eagles with 14 points, while Garrett added 10 points. Peyton McDaniel led a quartet of Dukes in double figures with a game-high 20 points.

Destiny Garrett added five rebounds and five assists to her double digit scoring tally. It's her seventh straight game of double digit scoring for the Eagles.

The Eagles' 27 points in the fourth quarter were tied for the most points in the fourth quarter of a game this season.
