
Eagles Finish Strong at First NCAA Championship

Georgia Southern ties for 24th place
CARLSBAD, Calif. - The Georgia Southern women's golf team saved its best for last as it shot a 292 (+2) in the third round of the 2025 NCAA Championship Sunday at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa as it finished in a tie for 24th place to wrap up the season.
Freshman Mary Miller shot her second 70 of the tournament to lead the way, posting a clean card with two birdies. LoraLie Cowart posted a 73 (+1) with three birdies while Louise Reau shot a 74 (+2) with two birdies. Kelsey Chen (75; +3) and Drive Tunwannarux (78; +6) rounded out the scoring on the final day.
Georgia Southern finished as the highest G5 school and also topped three P5 teams. Additionally, it's the highest finish by a Sun Belt school since 2009 when Denver finished sixth.

The Eagles won six tournaments and secured their highest rankings in program history under head coach Mimi Burke and assistant coach Mia Kness and will release their 2025-26 schedule in the coming months.
