
Moore and Watson Earn Sun Belt Track and Field Athlete of the Week Honors

The duo captures their first honors of the season
NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern senior Imani Moore and junior NaJ Watson earned Sun Belt Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors announced by the league on Wednesday morning.
Moore set two new indoor school records over the weekend at the Bob Pollock Invitational inside the Clemson Indoor Track and Field facility. In her final jump, Moore set the school record in the long jump with a mark of 6.25 surpassing an 18-year old record previously held by Nicole Brown (2007). Moore continued her success setting a new school record in the triple jump with a mark of 12.82m surpassing the mark of 12.76m previously held by Nicole Brown (2007.) The senior took first place in the long jump and second place in the triple jump. Moore currently has the best mark in the Sun Belt in the events.
Watson's time of 7.36 set a new school record in the 60m surpassing her previous record set last season with a time of 7.39. The junior took second place in the event this past weekend at the Bob Pollock Invitational.
The Eagles are scheduled to compete this upcoming weekend at the Celebration Pointe Classic in Gainesville, Fla.
