
Shatalya Dorsett Headlines Eagles’ Dominant Final Day

MOBILE, ALA. – The final day of the 2026 SBC Outdoor Championships proved to be a historic one for the Eagles, highlighted by multiple podium finishes, a relay title and a program record performance on the track.
In the long jump, Kennedy Hood led the way with a bronze-medal finish after posting a mark of 6.20m. Trinity Lavant followed in 13th with a 5.73m leap, while Gamyzhae Williams recorded a 5.60m mark and Alexandria Kennedy added a 5.58m effort.
The Eagles captured gold in the 4x100m relay as Shatalya Dorsett, Myzhane Solomon, Emani George and NaJ Watson crossed the line in 44.37. The mark also moved the squad to No. 2 all-time in program history.
In the triple jump, Alexandria Kennedy paced the group with an 11.73m mark, while Jailah Lee followed closely behind at 11.59m. Lavant added an 11.31m effort in the event.
Dorsett continued her standout meet in the 100m, claiming the conference crown with a program-record time of 11.18. Watson earned bronze after tying her personal best of 11.30 – the previous school record.
In the 200m, Dorsett secured her second conference title of the day with a personal-best 22.91, improving from third to second on the program's all-time list. Watson added another podium finish with a silver-medal performance of 23.16.
The 4x400m relay team capped off the conference championships with a season-best time of 3:43.08.
Shatalya Dorsett earned Women's Top Meet Scorer honors with 23 points, while Georgia Southern placed eighth overall with 64.50 points.
