
Track and Field Claims Two Individual Titles at SBC Indoor Championships

Moore, Dorsett take titles
BIRMINGHAM, Ala – Two Eagles claimed individual titles as the Georgia Southern track and field team took sixth place at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships on Tuesday at Birmingham Crossplex.
Imani Moore took home her first conference title securing the win in the long jump with a mark of 6.22m. Moore got off to a hot start jumping 6.05m in her first attempt before ensuring the win in the final attempt with the championship mark, 6.22m. In the triple jump, Moore took third place with a mark of 12.70m.
Shatalya Dorsett picked up her first individual conference title winning the 60m dash with a new school record and personal best time of 7.33. NaJ Watson took third place in the event tying her personal best time of 7.36.
Watson took second place in the 200m tying her personal best time of 23.38 and Dorsett took fifth with a personal best time of 23.56.
Emily Wheldon placed 17th in the 3000m and secured a personal best time of 10:09.99 which moves her into second all-time in program history. The freshman placed 11th in the 5000m run with a time of 17:38.80.
Keniya Walker took home fifth place in the 400m with a season best time of 55.59. Leonaya Knox placed fifth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.50. The 4x400 team took eighth place with a time of 3:49.05.
