- Georgia Southern men's basketball extended its winning streak to three games on Saturday, collecting its second road victory of the year, defeating Gardner-Webb 88-84 in Boiling Springs. Six different Eagles scored in double-figures, as Nakavieon White (15), Spudd Webb (14), Andres Burney (14), Dwayne Williams Jr. (13), Alden Applewhite (12), and Khayri Dunn (11) all scored 10-plus points on Saturday. Applewhite tallied his third double-double of the season, grabbing 12 boards to go along with his 12 points.
- The Eagles have been the strongest inside the friendly confines of the Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center, posting a record of 12-3. In those 15 contests, the Eagles are averaging just under 80 points per game (79.1) and enter Thursday with a seven-game winning streak in Statesboro. During that stretch, the Eagles tallied the points scored during the Charlie Henry era, tallying 98 against Johnson C. Smith earlier this season.
- Sun Belt Conference play is quickly approaching for the 2025-26 season, as the Eagles enter the final stretch of non-conference matchups. Georgia Southern opens the conference slate at the Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center, hosting Georgia State (12/18) and James Madison (12/20) before the holiday break. Both contests are part of a doubleheader with the women's program. The Eagles aim to carry their aggressive start to the season into the final two non-conference games against Coastal Georgia and West Georgia.
- Georgia Southern's defense continued to force the issue on Saturday, forcing Gardner-Webb into 15 turnovers and 10 steals. Through 11 games, the Eagles have forced their opponents into 15.0 turnovers per game and are averaging 9.0 steals per game. The 165 turnovers forced are second in the Sun Belt behind Troy (181), and the 99 steals also trail Troy (112).
- Graduate guard Tyren Moore has produced 1,221 career points in his four seasons in Division I. Entering Thursday's game against Coastal Georgia, Moore sits with 983 points in a Georgia Southern uniform. Moore looks to become the 47th Eagle all-time to collect 1,000 points with Georgia Southern.
