Southern picks up 31st straight SoCon win

NCAA SCORECARD

DAHLONEGA, Ga. - Led by a career-high 1,189 aggregate from Emma Pohlmann, the fourth-ranked Georgia Southern rifle team downed North Georgia 4,724-4,645 Saturday. The win was the 31st consecutive SoCon victory for the Eagles dating back to a 2020 loss to UAB at home.

In smallbore, Emma Pohlmann posted a 591 to lead the way. She was followed in by Emme Walrath (589; 2nd), Bremen Butler (587; 3rd), Matilda Eylander (career-high 582; 5th), Tori Watts (578; 7th), Hailey Singleton (578; 8th) and Zahra Gonzalez Mazo (577; 10th).

In air rifle, Pohlmann led the way with a 598 to take gold. Eylander tied her career high with a 597 to take second while Butler, Walrath and Singleton all shot 594 to place third, fourth and fifth, respectively. Watts placed sixth with a 593 and Gonzalez Mazo shot a 592 to place seventh.

Pohlmann led the squad with a career-best 1,189 to finish first in the aggregate and Walrath's 1,183 placed her second. Butler (1,181) took third, Eylander (career-high 1,179) placed fourth, followed by Singleton (1,172; 5th), Watts (1,171; 6th) and Gonzalez Mazo (1,169; 7th) rounded out the finishers.
