LEXINGTON, Va. - The fourth-ranked Georgia Southern rifle team picked up a pair of SoCon wins to move to 17-2 on the season Saturday as it downed VMI and the VMI women's team at Kilbourne Hall. The wins were the 32nd and 33rd consecutive SoCon victories for the Eagles dating back to 2020. It also wrapped up the semester for the Eagles as the now begin a two-month break before resuming action in the back half of the season.

In smallbore, Emma Pohlmann and Emme Walrath both shot 589s, but Pohlmann took the gold with more center shots. Zahra Gonzalez Mazo took third with a 583 and Bremen Butler placed fourth with a 582. Tori Watts (581; 5th), Matilda Eylander (577; 6th) and Hailey Singleton (575; 7th) completed the top seven sweep for the Eagles.

In air rifle, Walrath took first with a 597, besting Eylander's 597 based on center shots. Gonzalez Mazo shot a season-best 596 to take third while Butler and Pohlmann both shot 594s to place third and fourth, respectively. They were followed by Watts (589; 6th) and Singleton (588; 7th).

The Eagles took the top seven spots in aggregate, led by Walrath's 1,186. Pohlmann took second with a 1,183 and Gonzalez Mazo shot a season-best 1,179 to place third.
