Orlando, Fla. --- The Georgia Southern men's soccer team (8-2-1, 2-2 SBC) fell to UCF (4-5-1, 2-2 SBC) by a 3-0 margin on Friday night (October 10th).
The Knights' offense work to work early and often in the first half, scoring all three of their goals within the first 20 minutes of the contest. It started with Lilian Ricol in the sixth minute, followed by 14th and 19th minute scores. They would put up ten shots in the half, while their defense managed to hold the Eagles to not having a single shot of their own in the opening 45 minutes. All three saves made by
Nate Martinez on the evening came in the first half as well.Â
The Eagles would start to cause some pressure late, but it was saves by the Knights on shots from both
Kevin Pierre and
Manuel Flores that sealed the contest. It was a 16-5 advantage for UCF in shots, while just a 6-2 advantage in shots on target. Southern would lead in corners taken with their six, while the Knights only mustered three. It was a relatively clean contest, as the only two cards issued came in the final minute.
The Eagles conclude their road stretch on Tuesday, October 14th, as they take on the Bears of Mercer in the final non-conference match of 2025. Kickoff in Macon is set for 7 PM.
