Rifle squad takes on #5 TCU, Schreiner this weekend
STATESBORO - The fourth-ranked Georgia Southern rifle squad returns to action this weekend as it heads deep in the heart of Texas for a tri-match against a pair of Lone Star State foes. The Eagles take on #5 TCU and Schreiner University in a two-relay match in Fort Worth on Saturday.
The match begins at 9:45 a.m. (ET) with the second relay scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. (ET).
Georgia Southern is 7-4 this season with three close losses to the No. 2 team in the country and a loss in the second tiebreak to No. 3 Kentucky last time out. The Eagles currently sit at #4 in the country with its 4,740 three-score (different locations) average, just a few points ahead of #5 TCU. The top eight teams after NCAA Qualifier weekend will compete in the NCAA Championships in March.
TCU and Southern competed earlier this season with the Eagles pulling out a 4,745-4,737 victory in West Point, New York.
