New Orleans, La. --- The Sun Belt Conference has announced Georgia Southern defender
Julien Seher has earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
In the lone game of the week for the Eagles, Seher assisted on the first goal of the season with his perfectly-placed cross into the box to fellow freshman
Ricky Louis in Georgia Southern's 2-0 win against FGCU. The John's Creek Georgia native also helped massively on the defensive side, not allowing a goal yet this season. It is the first time since 1993 where the first two matches of the season were both clean sheets. The award is the first time since
Nate Martinez on September 26, 2023 where an Eagle has won a Sun Belt weekly award.Â
The Eagles' next match is Friday, September 6th, at Stetson with kickoff set for 7 p.m. in DeLand, Fla. Georgia Southern does not return to Bo Pitts Field until Sunday, September 15, where UAB comes to town for another 7 p.m. kickoff.
