For the third consecutive season, the Georgia Southern women's golf team is scheduled to play at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. The teams will tee off for 36 holes on Friday before wrapping up play on Saturday playing 18 holes. Play will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. each day.
The Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic is one of the oldest sporting events in all of women's intercollegiate athletics. The tourney began in 1973 as the Georgia Invitational before becoming the Women's Southern Intercollegiate from 1977-94. In 1995, the tourney was renamed in honor of Liz Murphey, UGA's Hall of Fame golf coach and longtime Senior Woman Administrator.

Abby Newton and
Louise Reau finished inside the top-10 as the Georgia Southern women's golf team finished eighth at the Valspar Augusta Invitational. Against a championship-caliber field, the Eagles finished two strokes ahead of No. 1 Wake Forest and four strokes in front of 32nd-ranked Alabama.
Abby Newton makes her 38th start career start for the Eagles, Louise makes her ninth career start in the lineup,
