Five Personal Bests Set, Cross Country Takes Third at Sand Shark Invitational

Eagles place two in the top-5
HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – Five Eagles set personal bests in the women's 5K at the 17th Annual Sand Shark Invitational at Hardeeville School Complex on Saturday morning. The five Eagles include Isabel Ptacek, Emily Wheldon, Tristen Crosby, Ella Zierdt, and Julia Wilson.
Georgia Southern took third place as a team behind Winthrop and Converse.
Ptacek led the team finishing second with a time of 18:24.3 followed by Wheldon who finished fourth with a time of 18:38.0. The pair records its second top-5 finishes of the season after finishing first and second at the GMC Brickyard Invitational.
A trio of Eagles rounded out the top-20 as Crosby finished 17th clocking in at 19:28.6, Zierdt placed 18th with a time of 19:29.4, and Wilson posted a time of 19:31.7 to finish 19th.
Katie Ranck completed the course with a time of 20:10.3 to finish 24th while Ciara Sulton finished 28th posting a time of 20:32.4.
Megan Hilton recorded a time of 21:18.6, Melanie Tribick posted a 21:38.9, and Ansley Fullen finished with a time of 21:55.0.
