Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla. - Georgia Southern men's tennis concluded its season-opening trip to Florida on Saturday, falling to FAU by a 5-2 score in Boca Raton.
The Owls (1-0) collected the doubles point, then won four of six singles matches over the Eagles (0-2) in Georgia Southern's first trip to Boca to play FAU since 2018.
Florida Atlantic took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
In singles, the Owls notched straight-set singles wins at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 6 to clinch the match. The Eagles picked up a 6-4, 7-5 win from Pierre Mouesca at No. 3 singles, and with the match clinched, the other two singles matches went to 10-point third-set tiebreakers.
Judson Blair notched a 6-2, 6-7 (4), (10-5) win over Mark Havlicek at No. 5 singles, while Dimitris Paliouras fell 4-6, 6-0, (10-12) to Jiri Jenick at No. 2 singles.
Georgia Southern will be next in action on Sunday, January 21, traveling to Orlando to face UCF in a Noon matchup.
