Eagles Drop Match to North Florida, 2-1

STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern men's soccer team fell in a home match against the North Florida Ospreys by a final score of 2-1 on Friday night at Eagle Field.
Georgia Southern (1-2-1) would get on the board first when Manuel Prieto recouped his own blocked header and shot the ball into the back of the net in the 24'. The Eagles would enjoy the lead for about nine minutes of game time until the Ospreys (2-1-2) fired back, scoring off of a penalty kick and knotting the match up at one-all before the half.
In the second half, Georgia Southern would tally 10 shots but struggled to get anything into the net, while UNF was able to sneak one in in the 78', shooting from about 20 yards out to take a late lead for UNF, resulting in the eventual 2-1 final in favor of UNF.

Georgia Southern continues the home stand with a Tuesday night match against the Jacksonville Dolphins on Sept. 12. Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
