STATESBORO - Georgia Southern volleyball coach Chad Willis announced today that Khloe Henderson and Lexi Uhrhan have joined his coaching staff.
"We are thrilled to officially announce Khloe and Lexi to our staff," Willis said. "Khloe will serve as our director of operations, managing the day-to-day aspects of our program on and off the court. Lexi joins us as a third assistant coach and will work primarily with our defensive specialists and ball control group. Both Khloe and Lexi bring unique and valuable perspectives and experience that will continue to help us build and foster a championship program on and off the court. We're excited to welcome them to our family and Eagle Nation!"
Henderson was born and raised in Powder Springs, Georgia, and has worked with the Eagle volleyball program the past four seasons as a team manager. As manager, she facilitated setup and take down of practice and game day equipment. In addition, she kept statistics during practice and coded statistics during live matches. Her senior year, she supervised the other managers. Henderson graduated from Georgia Southern with a degree in psychology and is pursuing her Master's in public administration with a concentration in public management.
"I am super excited to continue being a part of the Georgia Southern volleyball program," Henderson said. "I would not be here without Chad, Taylor and E trusting and believing in me. It means a lot that the staff and players have felt like a second family these last four years and have built a culture that is unparalleled. The dedication and love everyone has for volleyball and each other is truly inspiring and something anyone would want to be a part of! I'm excited about continuing to grow in this new role while learning and working alongside the best! Go Eagles!"
Uhrhan comes to Statesboro after recently finishing her collegiate playing career at Mercer, where she played four years as a libero/defensive specialist. The Louisville, Kentucky, native played in 98 matches in her career, collecting 647 digs, 98 assists, 93 service aces and 10 kills. As a senior last season, she had 304 digs, including a career-high 23 against Wofford.
"I am so grateful and appreciative to Chad, Taylor and E for providing me the opportunity to join a program like Georgia Southern," Uhran said. "The passion and appreciation the staff and the players have for the university and the sport of volleyball is unmatched and what they have created here is something so special. I cannot wait to learn and grow from some of the best and am excited to get started!"
The 2023 Georgia Southern volleyball schedule will be released soon. The Eagles open the season at home on Aug. 25.
