
Andress Earns CSC Academic All-America At-Large Honors

Senior earns first-team accolades
STATESBORO - Former Georgia Southern men's golfer Wilson Andress has earned a spot on the Collegiate Sports Communicators Men's Academic All-America At-Large team, announced today by the organization. The at-large program consists of 10 NCAA-sponsored sports.
Andress, who earned a spot on the first team, is the first men's golfer in Georgia Southern history, the 22nd Georgia Southern student-athlete and 15th male in the long history of the Academic All-America program be honored.
A two-time GCAA All-American Scholar, Andress was named to the President's List (4.0 GPA) in all 10 semesters at Georgia Southern. The fifth-year senior was named first-team All-Sun Belt and posted three top-10 finishes this season, including his first collegiate win in the Gopher Invitational. Andress recorded six top-25 finishes, including a T14 at the NCAA Salem Regional, and shot par or better in 22 of 33 rounds this season. He graduated with a 4.0 grade point average in civil engineering and was named to the Sun Belt Commissioner's List for four consecutive years.
To be eligible for the all-district team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Fellow men's golfers Brantley Baker and Mason Williams were recognized on that team. The All-America teams are voted on by all CSC members from across the country, using every all-district team to choose from.
