The meet begins at 9 a.m. at Eagle Field.
STATESBORO – Georgia Southern track and field competes in its final meet before the Sun Belt Outdoor Championship as the Eagles host the Georgia Southern Classic Saturday at Eagle Field.
The event begins at 9 a.m., and admission is free. Parking is free, but space is slightly limited due to ongoing construction on the Anthony P. Tippins Family Indoor Practice Facility.
There will be designated seating areas in the main bleachers to watch the track events, and seating near the throw events will have limited capacity. Fans are asked to remain in the designated seating areas and not walk across the track to see the remaining jumping events.
The Eagles are coming off a weekend in which they recorded four of the program's top performances at the Georgia Tech Invite and the USC Open. The 4x100 relay team of Kennedy Hood, Montse Rodriguez, NaJ Watson and Imani Moore finished in 45.10, the fourth-best time in school history, while Sam Holbrook recorded the fifth-best mark in program history in the hammer throw (48.65m).
Sofia Molina posted the ninth-fastest time in the 400 (56.46), and Lily Ball registered the 10th-best time in the 5000 (18:49.64).
The Sun Belt Outdoor Championship is scheduled for May 11-13 in Conway, South Carolina.
