NEW ORLEANS– Volleyball freshman outside hitter
Reagan Barth's outstanding season just got a bit better as she was named First Team All-Sun Belt, the league announced Tuesday.
Barth was all over nearly every box score during her first season in navy & white, appearing in every game and leading the Eagles in kills, kills per set, points, points per set, aces and aces per set.
The freshman also finished second on the team in digs and digs per set and finished third in the conference in aces and aces per set, and seventh in kills and kills per set.
Her 23 kills against Coastal Carolina on Oct. 7 were the highest by any Eagle in any match during the season. She reached the 20-kill plateau four times during the season, while only one other Eagle,
Chamblee Russell, recorded one 20-kill match.
Nationally, the Lenexa, Kan. native was 46th in aces per set and 81st in kills per set. Barth had six double-doubles in her inaugural campaign, recording double-digit kills in 19 matches and closing the year reaching ten or more kills in 15 of the last 16 games. She also had double-digit digs in six matches.
Barth and the Eagles will play on Thursday for their first-round matchup in the Sun Belt conference tournament.
