Over-arching fundraising campaign for athletics debuts today
STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern Department of Athletics and the GS Athletic Foundation announced Wednesday the launching of "Soar Above All," an over-arching fundraising campaign highlighting the different ways to give to the Eagles.
Soar Above All encompasses the Competitive Excellence Fund, Erk Russell Fund ("Soar To Six"), facilities, endowment, sport-specific giving and the APEX Program.
"Over the past two years we have slowly implemented changes within the Athletic Foundation, all leading up to this broader campaign," said Erick Reasoner, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development. "We have tweaked certain areas and created others so that we would be able to unveil the Soar Above All campaign - a unifying call-to-action which spans across everything the Athletic Foundation supports. We want Eagle fans everywhere who are interested in supporting the program to be able to do so at the level they are comfortable with, impacting the areas they are most passionate about. This is the chance for Eagle Nation, which is all over the country and internationally, to support the student-athletes and teams we all love."
Soar Above All was created to help bring awareness to the different ways to support the Eagles philanthropically. There are many different ways to give and many different methods of giving, which will be highlighted throughout the campaign and on the new Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation website at SoarAboveAll.com. The six main avenues of giving will be highlighted individually, corresponding to home football game weeks:
Sept. 3 (Morgan State) - Competitive Excellence Fund
Sept. 24 (Ball State) - Sport-Specific
Oct. 15 (JMU) - APEX
Nov. 5 (South Alabama) - Facilities
Nov. 19 (Marshall) - Endowment
Nov. 26 (App State) - Erk Russell Fund
A new website through Sidearm has been created to aid the launch and can be accessed at SoarAboveAll.com.
