
Hayden Harris Signs Free Agent Deal with Atlanta Braves

Harris is the first Eagle to sign with Atlanta in five years
STATESBORO – Hayden Harris signed a free agent contract with the reigning World Series Champions Atlanta Braves organization on Thursday, July 21.
Harris finished his senior season with 19 appearances and seven starts, posting a 1-0 record. He struck out 36 opposing batters in 28.2 innings of work this past season. The lefty finished his five-year career as an Eagle with 166 strikeouts, a .241 opposing batting average, and 10 saves. One of his top performances of the season was his first start of the year on the road against Florida State on April 20, where he only allowed a single hit and sat down four Seminole batters in four innings.
Harris becomes the first Eagle of the 2022 squad to earn an MLB contract. He is the first Eagle since Connor Simmons in 2017 to sign with Atlanta.
