Caldwell announces new hire for program
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern head swimming & diving coach Amanda Caldwell has announced the hiring of Trevor Sisson as the new diving coach for the program.
A former Wisconsin diving state champion, Sisson has joined the Georgia Southern swimming & diving staff for the 2022-23 season. Sisson dove for UW-Milwaukee where he was a Horizon League finalist and UW-Milwaukee's men's Diver of the Year. As a coach, he mentored a four-time NCAA Division III All-American at UW-Whitewater as well as a four-time Wisconsin boys' state champion. He has previously coached at UW-Whitewater, Davenport University and Bryant University - where he produced both the men's and women's NEC diver of the year and was voted NEC Dive Coach of the Year.
"I want to thank Jared Benko, Chris Davis, and Brandy Clouse for their assistance in this search," Caldwell said. "Their continued support in our program has helped us bring someone like Trevor in with a great collegiate foundation in coaching, recruiting, and his own experiences as a student-athlete. His holistic approach to coaching the full person and focusing on the details matches what we do here and I cannot wait for Weber, Phifer, and Wells to get started with him in the fall."
"Coming to the state of Georgia is an amazing new opportunity for me," Sisson said. "I am very excited to work to build an unstoppable dive program and finally get away from the winter!"
